Let me introduce myself. I am Yasir Arafath, I would like to share my story on how I came into technology world, Its still quite different from traditional. I do not have an academic background when it comes to the tech field, but like most other people I have a curiosity and this curiosity drives me in the direction of cybersecurity with a passion and intention to learn.
When I was a child, my father used to send me a piece of toys from abroad. Including remote-control airplanes, cars, and walkie-talkies etc. One of the things I remember is using the walkie-talkies to talk to my brother even though he was on a different floor of the house. Meeting technology this early on sparked my interest and laid the seeds for my curiosity.
Those were the first instances of my passion and curiosity that pushed me to discover more around the tech culture.
Then, as an adult, two events that piqued my interest in cyber security. First off, Edward Snowden‘s classified documents revealed I realized that the world and society I lived in were broken. For one brief moment, our entire world was laid bare, showing the global scale of data interception and the urgent necessity of security and privacy. The issue became more international than merely technical.
Moreover, you know, the Bangladesh Bank Heist of 2016 made a significant impression on me. When hackers drained $81 million by exploiting holes in the SWIFT network, my nation was directly affected. This blew a hole in the financial sector and opened the door to the necessity for better cybersecurity. It served as a necessary reminder that digital technology comes with peril and that it is vital to fortify strong defenses. These two incidents only reinforced my desire to make cybersecurity the focus of my career and a mission for protecting values in this ever-more digital planet.
Well, for year 2023 to be more specific, I got mentored under Tanjim Al Fahim sir who is the CEO of Arena Web Security where I entered into ethical hacking for the very first time. Since then, I had been learning from Google, IBM, Udemy and other reputed and well-known platforms and working on a solid base from scratch. This inspires me to continuously learn, improve my skills and be a plus to cyber security world everyday.
This portfolio outlines that journey: one of continuous development, problem-solving, and working towards a better and safer digital world. I look forward to presenting my work and connecting with more wonderful folks that are just as eager to figure out the cybersecurity challenges ahead.
Thank you for stopping by, and I hope you enjoy checking out what I have created.
